Please click here to see locations and times. McBee Elementary Chorus Performs in Washington, D.C. The Chorus, under the direction of Stephanie Tiller, traveled to Washington, DC the week of March 1st - 4th . The group toured Mount Vernon and participated in the flag raising ceremony. They also visited the Smithsonian Museum of American History, the Museum of Natural History, the Air and Space Museum, The United States Capitol, and Arlington National Cemetery where they saw the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and participated in the wreath laying ceremony laying a wreath from . Other highlights of the trip included visiting the Jefferson, Vietnam, Korean, Martin Luther King, Iwo Jima and Lincoln Memorials and walking down Pennsylvania Avenue to see the White House! The group performed the “Star-Spangled Banner” and “Let There Be Peace” at Lafayette Square with the White House in the background for an audience of family, friends and passers-by. Children, teachers, and adult chaperones enjoyed a very educational and exciting trip. The MES Chorus travels each spring to Washington, DC, Philadelphia, New York City or Disney World in Orlando, FL to perform. The group also performed at the Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte, NC, and the Hartsville area nursing homes and assisted living facilities in December in addition to school and community performances MES STEM night was a huge success! Students from all grades attended the MES STEM night on Feb 18th. The students and their family members were able to work together and learn about the many different aspects of STEM through doing fun activities. MES names Sheryl Cutler 2020 Teacher of the Year!! Congratulations to Sheryl Cutler, second grade, on being named MES 2020 Teacher of the year! Mrs Cutler is an asset to our school and always goes above and beyond for her students! MES Jr Beta Club travels to convention in Myrtle Beach, SC MES Jr Beta Club traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC to compete in the Jr Beta Convention on January 16th-17th 2020.
